Car of the week – FIAT Tipo

The Italian manufacturer has been known for decades for the production of city and compact cars. While little ones such as the FIAT 500 and Panda have always been drivers’ favorites, the larger models have not always been so lucky. 5 years ago, however, FIAT decided to revive the TIPO model, and the designers did everything to ensure that the car was well recognized on the market. After the quite successful Bravo of the second generation, FIAT decided to return to the model name that it used in the 90s of the last century. Is this a good move? The 5-year career of the model has shown that it is because the Turin compact has returned in a really good style. Tipo is also a completely new quality at the Stellantis concern. The interior is also very neat, and the dashboard is dominated by the large screen of the Uconnect 7 ”HD LIVE multimedia system. The touch display panel responds well to commands and is readable. We can connect the device with our smartphone and enjoy the music provided by one of the websites. Standard TomTom navigation is a very good choice, and FIAT guarantees a free map update for three years from the date of car purchase, so users of PANEK Rent a Car can be sure of the correct indications. The set also includes a rear view camera and we basically have everything you need in a modern car. 
 
Of course, there are also comfort features such as power steering with City function and automatic air conditioning. The fleshy leather multifunction steering wheel is comfortable to hold and the instruments are easy to read. Metallic borders add flavor to them. The seats are large and comfortable. As we are dealing with a station wagon, a few words should be given to the trunk. 550 liters counted for the roller shutter should satisfy every user. It doesn’t matter if it’s the father of the family or the trader. The trunk will accommodate everything you need. The manufacturer has used a double floor, and the partition can be easily removed, while increasing the depth of the loading area.

FIAT Tipo – driving experience 
 
The car drives surprisingly well and the cabin is well soundproofed. Even at highway speeds, the body does not generate noise, and this definitely has a positive effect on driving comfort, especially if we have several hundred kilometers to cover. The 1.4 T-Jet engine is a well-known and proven unit. Its predecessor was still working in FIAT Bravo and showed that it is a very successful design and does not cause much trouble for users. In addition, it is not structurally complicated, thanks to which it easily achieves mileage of up to 300,000 km. km and more. The dynamics is at a decent level. The engine eagerly turns into the revolutions, and due to the high for this displacement engine, a torque of 215 Nm, available from 2,500 rpm, also pleasantly flexible. The work of the gearbox is also a positive surprise. The gear ratios are precise, and in sixth gear you can accelerate smoothly from around 70 km / h. The car can also be restrained when it comes to fuel appetite. When driving the expressway slowly, it can use up to 5 l / 100 km, which is an advantage that cannot be overestimated considering the current situation on the fuel market. 
 
The new FIAT Tipo Estate (Station Wagon) turns out to be a very versatile and extremely practical car, both in the city and on a long journey. It can easily accommodate 4 adult passengers and their luggage, it is pleasantly comfortable on the road, and the quite “armored” suspension is great on the urban obstacle course.
